My Inspiration Part 1

A few years ago I was scrolling through Instagram and came across an Ad for The Boudoir Divas. It was a one hour webinar for their Online Boudoir Workshop.

Watching the Online Boudoir School videos while travelling for work on a plane. Loved that the videos were downloaded and not streamed.

I listened to the web call while I was on a long drive (no…I didn’t watch it, for anyone that thinks it’s weird to listen to a web call).

I didn’t need to see anything. I was totally inspired by Marissa Boucher and her BFF and Business Partner, Kim…

It was $99 and at the time that seemed like a big investment, but I was so inspired and excited I couldn’t help myself. That was the web call that changed it all for me. I think Boudoir Photographers and women who book Boudoir shoots all have a different motivation, so it’s not easily identified.

The spark and excitement was real. I wanted to inspire and empower women, all women, real women through photographs. Now, don’t get me wrong, I totally understand not everyone needs to see sexy images in lingerie or a white sheet to be empowered. It’s more than that.

I wanted to inspire and empower women through photographs. Period. I really don’t care what you wear, or don’t wear. It’s exciting to see images of yourself through the eyes of someone else. You don’t know what other see….you just can’t.

I bet you could point out all the perceived flaws or imperfections you see in the mirror and wash in the shower…but I promise you, others don’t see what you see. It’s weird, but as your Photographer it’s my job to see what’s on the inside and help pose you and capture your expression, so it shines on the outside. Being a Photographer, especially a Boudoir or Portrait Photographer is not even close to just being someone that can take pretty pictures. We need to see the real you, and then introduce you to her through Images.

I have been actively following Marissa Boucher, Owner of The Boudoir Divas for years and consider her a Mentor. I have stayed in touch with her long after that first webinar. I appreciate all her positivity and insight and education and most of all her genuine character. She is a real woman inspiring women to live their best life and to capture it in Images.

Much love to Marissa. XO
