The Sheep Shelf

As I look at these pictures, it makes me immediately relax and chill.  The simplicity of enjoying farm life shines through on most of the images below.

It was a pretty busy day at the Sheep Shelf Open House (Farm).  They had a great variety of stuff to purchase sheep milk dairy products, wool dryer balls (which I totally need to try and make with all the fleece I have…a story for another day), soaps and lotions, local beef/pork, dog treats, manure, seedlings, plants and on the spot pork and lamb chili nachos.

What I really wanted was some nice country images and to hang out with a couple girl friends.

Although there were lots of little humans running around looking at all the little lambs, chickens, horses and even a couple big pigs, I did what I could to keep the images clean and as distraction-free as possible.

I will absolutely be doing a series on barns.  I love the simplicity, functionality and textures that make up a barn. Maybe one day make our own yearly calendar of local barns/out building that I come across on my travels.

What I wanted to focus on for shooting at the farm was images with limited distractions and to get the feel of calm country living.

I’m happy with the results
