#teira365 week 4

Week 4 is behind me.  It’s definitely been a “Country” story telling week.  Wild Turkey’s, yarn spinning, tractors and gardening.

As I look at the images that I like best there is one common theme.  Shallow depth of field is my favorite.

I am hoping to develop my own style of photography this year, but that said, also want to try a bunch of different styles, techniques and subjects.  I also want to learn more about artificial light, light modifiers and posing.  Lots to learn this this year and as I plug away at online resources and a million books (I absolutely LOVE books), I’m excited to be on this road to my photography discovery.

What did I learn this week?

Learn to see things differently.  Get down, get close, pay attention and sometimes it’s OK to create the moment.  I knew images of spinning yarn is something I wanted to capture, but I didn’t quite nail the shutter speed of the actual spinning.  It was too bright and I couldn’t get my shutter speed slow enough without blowing out the image.  I’ll wait for a darker day and try again.
