🧐 The One Quote That Could Change Your Life 🧐

Wow! Did you re-read that quote multiple times, like I did?

I was walking my dog a couple months ago listening to Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory (affiliate link) book on Audible and that quote made me stop in my tracks, literally and make a voice note to remember it for later.

I will be the first to admit, listening more and talking less is NOT a strength of mine. I like to ask lots of questions, challenge inefficiencies and then get to solutions that make sense.

As part of my own personal journey of being the best version of myself, it got me thinking of another book I read years ago, Strengths Finder 2.0. I was then talking to a friend of mine that owns her own business and we got to sharing challenges and plans to overcome them.

Enter the Strengths Finder 2.0 book into the conversation. I think way too often we try to be and do things that don’t come naturally because we think it’s what is necessary to succeed. I now realize when we, or at least I, focus on my strengths, I find friends and colleagues and online resources to help fill the blanks on what is not natural to me.

Efficiencies are my favourite!

The Strengths Finder 2.0

If you have been hanging out with me on my walk and talks on IG (mostly on @teiraferris but some do show up on @teiraferrisphotography), you would have heard me talk about a book that has put SO much into perspective for me.

Years ago I had a Leader at work that was amazing at helping me work on me (as a human, not an employee), and she shared this book which has really become my “Golden Rule” of who I am.

It’s not inexpensive (nothing worthy ever really is, is it?). It’s absolutely worth the investment if you are on a path of self discovery and awareness. Which I am, and have been for the last 15-20 years.

My top 5 Strengths (according to Strengths Finder 2.0)

In no particular order:

Responsibility – compelled to work ethically and motivated to follow through to completion even when challenges arise

Achiever – hard working, and thrives on being busy and productive

Positivity – contagiously enthusiastic with a natural ability to inspire others with a positive attitude

Learner – driven by the process rather than the outcome. Strong passion for learning new skills, techniques and technology and to share and inspire others to do the same

Arranger – strong ability to organize resources for maximum productivity. Can be counted on to identify areas of opportunity and suggestions for improvement.

Responsibility

I will NEVER share your personal images without your signed consent.

Your privacy and trust mean everything!

Achiever

I have the very best of both worlds. A corporate career that I love and a side hustle of inspiring and empowering women through photography.

The BEST!

Positivity

I’m on the Journey of Life right along side of you and finding ways to navigate it with any level of grace, humour and positivity is my goal for all of us.

Learner

If I’m not learning a new technique, whether it be self improvement, photography, crafts, technology…I’m probably asleep

Arranger

I always say I think my superpower is to un-complicate the complicated.

Arranger in photography I believe shows up in posing, lighting and wardrobe. It’s my responsibility as your photographer to maximize all the variables in the photo shoot to create jaw dropping images!

My photography mission is to help empower women to experience next level confidence to live their best and most fulfilling life.

Photography, I 100% believe is a part of that empowerment journey. There are many many steps along the way, and we are travelling that road together!

If you are interested in your natural strengths, definitely invest in yourself!

If you grab the book and do the exercise to find your strengths, I would love it if you replied back and shared them! It’s such a cool exercise.

Wishing you the very best!
