Can you guess my favourite day of the year?

We are in the home stretch countdown to my favourite day of the year, every year! (Wiggle room with leap years).

If you know me, you know I love a good countdown, checklist and timeline.

Now that we are nestled into September, it’s time to prep for the BIG DAY!

So many reasons to love SEPTEMBER 22.

  1. It’s the start of Fall. My favourite season.
  2. It’s my friend Esther’s birthday
  3. 2024 celebrated the very first episode of Friends, 20 years prior. (That was a new reason to love Sept 22, last year)
  4. It’s the 100 day mark to NYE. The biggest countdown of the year!

As I prep for the start of the countdown, I am frantically just dumping all my creative ideas on a brain dump template in my Noteshelf 3 app, on my iPad.

Although I won’t get ALL my creative ideas accomplished by Dec 31, if I see them on “paper”, I can usually consolidate the ideas into themes. Once the ideas are in themes, it’s easier to potentially integrate them into my “bigger plans” that will get a good ol’ fashioned check mark by NYE.

As I prep for the next 21 days, I will also reflect on everything I have checked off my list so far this year. What’s the point in achieving a goal, if you don’t celebrate it, right?

Something you may not know about me…I LOVE MUSICAL THEATRE. SO MUCH!

Last year I saw Sunset Boulevard on Broadway in NYC, and this summer I saw HAMILTON in Ottawa. I can’t stop listening to the majority of the Hamilton soundtrack on Spotify. I’m absolutely NOT a fan of rap music and American history isn’t on my list of topics I am overly interested it, BUT…HAMILTON was freaking amazing!

If I were give you one song to listen to from Hamilton it would be – My Shot. Not because I think you need to learn about American History, but yet inspire you to not give up on your own shot at success. (Next song if you wanted one more – the title track: Alexander Hamilton. SO GOOD!

Not surprising, Hamilton cleaned up at the TONY’s with 11 awards in 2016.

  1. Best Musical
  2. Best Book of a Musical
  3. Best Original Score
  4. Best Actor in a Musical
  5. Best Featured Actor in a Musical
  6. Best Featured Actress in a Musical
  7. Best Choreography
  8. Best Costume Design (musical)
  9. Best Direction of a Musical
  10. Best Lighting Design (Musical)
  11. Best Orchestrations

Sunset Boulevard was also an experience I’ll never forget. I was very apprehensive when we bought the tickets thinking I would be disappointed with no glitz and glamour and sparkly costumes and colorful lighting. It was ALL black and white – no costume changes, not even any shoes. Black set, white lights, black clothes and it was MESMERIZING.

Nicole Scherzinger deservedly won the TONY award for Lead Actress in a musical. CAPTIVATING. Sunset Boulevard also won the TONY for Revival of a Musical, and Lighting Design.

As I sit here typing this, I am listening to Hamilton and thinking how grateful I am to be able to say I finally saw the show Live with great friends.

All the lists and accomplishments are without merit if you don’t take time to have experiences with your friends and fill your cup with laughter and JOY!

This is your invitation to join me over the next 21 days, to prep for the BIGGEST Countdown of the year.

Once my list is ready, I try to make 100 daily tasks that I can make in my phone, that I can check off daily to get me closer to my bigger goals.

How will you spend the next three weeks? Hoping your grand plans will just fall into place, or will you be intentional with your 21 days?

It’s time for me to wrap up this post, and to get crackin’ on my brainstorming.

I hope you will join me in getting ready for the 100 Day Countdown.

Wishing you all the success and accomplishments you plan for yourself!

Cheering you on!
