Today is the last day your kids will be this age…let that sink in.

Truthfully, I don’t go out of my way to market my photography business to families.

The beauty of photography is there are SO many specific niches that you can really hone your craft to a specific demographic and then get REALLY good at shooting just that. My specialty is Boudoir and Branding, specifically Women’s Portraits.

It’s not that I don’t or won’t photograph families, it’s just not what fuels my creative fire…until…

….I have a session with young kids and I remember how fun it is to be playful and dance silly, and blow bubbles and fall down and play airplane…younger kids are so freaking fun to play with.

Their imagination is still perfectly intact. They find joy in EVERYTHING. Climbing on Daddy and swinging with Mommy.

This session was all smiles and giggles and soon as this new baby is old enough to play, I hope I get invited back to capture another snapshot in time.

Remember your kids will only be this age once. Don’t wait for a better day, a more convenient time…before you know it they will at the age where they don’t want to play with bubbles and climb on you and giggle uncontrollably at silly faces.

If your expectation is perfectly staged portraits where everyone is sitting still and posing properly, you might be disappointed. But if you want to capture real life in a playful way, this age is PERFECT!

Special thanks to this couple that invited me to their backyard to share some giggles, hugs and most importantly, capturing real life happening with their beautiful family. Can’t wait to meet the newest addition (that arrived shortly after).

The last time I photographed Momma, she had #2 roughly a week later. WAY TOO CLOSE for my liking, LOL.

To all the new parents, one child or multiple, let this be your reminder to book the session!

I’m not just saying this as a Photographer looking for repeat clients…although I love photographing the same clients over and over, but you should absolutely book the session EVERY YEAR!

You will want to look back through your digital images, or better yet, professionally printed album and remember the great time you had the day the photos were taken, and remember the funny moments of that year.

Make the call, buy the cute dress or handsome outfit and gather your Family!

When you receive your gallery of images…consider wall art!

Fill your walls with the LOVE of YOUR Family.

XO

    Teira is amazing!

My wife, So Young, and I have done a few photoshoots in the past. They felt awkward and uncomfortable. We’re not models or actors. We don’t know the correct poses or postures. What do I do with my hands?! It can be very nerve-wracking.

But with Teira it felt so natural! There was guidance, but it never left me feeling uncomfortable or unsure. Most of the time I was just hanging out with my wife and playing with my kids. And all the photos turned out great! Candid photos are my favorite. No poses or fake smiles, just genuine moments.

I highly recommend Teira and I really appreciate all that she did for my family. One day I hope future generations will look back at these photos and see how happy their grandparents, great-grandparents and so were.

These photos bring tears to my eyes. They capture the love in this family. The kids grow up so fast. The moments pass so quick and I know I’ll never get them back. I’m so thankful that Teira was able to capture some of these precious moments in such a beautiful way.

Thank you Teira! Some of these photos have been printed and will live on our walls, bringing a smile to our faces everytime we see them for many years to come. One day we’ll be gone, but these photos will still be here.
