I have been asked a few times recently, Why Boudoir?
Because… I want to help Women see their beauty through images they wouldn’t normally take with cell phones. I want, for an afternoon, to help women feel sexy and feminine. I want to help women look at an image of themselves and feel overwhelmed with confidence and self-love.
Let me be more clear on my “definition” of Boudoir. It’s not about undressing down to your skivvies and lying on a bed. You can be fully clothed and still be positioned in just a way, to get a glimpse of the fire that smolders inside.
Are Boudoir images intimate? Sure they are, but they doesn’t mean you need to bare all to be intimate. Maybe a more comfortable term would be Portrait Session. Call it what you prefer.
It’s an afternoon where you commit to being the Star in Your Own Show. Not a mom, a wife, a girlfriend, a business Owner, an employee, a colleague, a sister, a daughter…just YOU, celebrating you.
I watch women celebrate milestones with their kids and partners all the time on social media, but only a few women I follow, celebrate their own milestones.
Picture this. Your little one just turned 5 and is in School full-time. That’s not just their Milestone. That’s yours too. You raised a human for 5 years and have got them to a place where they have enough independence to get on the bus alone and find a friend to eat lunch with.
Celebrate your milestones.
Will you book a Boudoir Session every time the tooth fairy comes? Probably not.
Will you book a Boudoir Session when you reach a Milestone Birthday? Maybe
Will you book a Boudoir Session when your kids start school? Maybe.
Will you book a Boudoir Session when you have a Special Anniversary around the corner? Maybe.
Will you book a Boudoir Session when you make a life change?
I really hope so.
I have been studying and learning from the very best in the Boudoir Industry from California to my favorite NYC. The educators I follow and engage with are amazing and are so willing to teach what works and why because it’s not about sharing private trade secrets. It’s about women helping women look and feel confident and feminine.
As I build my Portrait/Boudoir Niche in the Kingston/South Frontenac please let me know if you are interested in learning more.
I will be offering discounted packages as I grow my Business.
To keep my Photography Business more clear and more targeted to specific audiences, I will have a separate Portrait/Boudoir Photography Page on Facebook, Garters and Lace Boudoir Photography, that will be Women ONLY and private. You can search it and request to be added. I will also have my Teira Ferris Photography group for my regular sessions (Families, events, furry friends, etc).
I am very happy to shoot all styles of Photography. I am addicted to learning and passionate about growing as a Photographer and as a person. A camera in my hands means I am challenging myself to be more creative and helps me really look a life differently. I want to learn to tell stories without words, and the only way to do that well, is to keep shooting!
